First, we would like to extend our appreciation to the Board of Trustees and Administration for the clarification of the Truth and Certainty Statement of the University. The Executive Summary of the Board of Trustees is in complete agreement with the statement of President Brown that "..certainty means absolute 100% certainty in the Word of God." It is our hope that a signed agreement of the faculty with this statement will be added to the documents that are signed each year with the faculty contracts.
The Coalition as a whole has not met with Dr. Brown since December, 2007, and progress on our major concerns has been extremely limited. However, several members of the Coalition have met individually with interested parties of the administration and several departments, and have reported an impasse on the concerns we have articulated in our original letter of concern. These many issues remain unresolved and we are looking at several ways to increase our base and communicate our resolve to see these issues come to a resolution.
Furthermore, with the removal of Dr. Blumenstock from the classroom and Dr. Bjornstad from teaching the courses he was promised by the Bible Department, we will be taking future initiatives to see that these acts are rescinded
As the University responds to the complaints of wrongful termination of tenured members of the Bible Department, we will be watching carefully as the depositions are revealed relating to the issues of governance and tenure. We covet your prayers as we continue in the cause of Christ for the spiritual health and institutional strength of Cedarville University for the future.
